About Your Host
David Gwynn is a freelance web designer living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He admits to being 43 years old and is a native of nearby Greensboro. He has also lived in Charlotte and in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. And then there were those thirteen long years in San Francisco... David's past employment has included stints as a McFlunkie, a DJ, a surf shop manager, a freelance writer, fifteen years in management and training at FedEx Kinko's, and one very bad day spent working in a plastics factory. Oddly enough, he has never worked in a supermarket nor within the grocery industry. David's educational background includes a B.A. in Geography and Sociology (concentrated in Urban Studies) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In his undergraduate days, he presented papers before the Southest Division of the Association of American Geographers and the North Carolina Sociological Association. Now he just talks to anyone on the street (or on the Internet) who might listen. He is also pursuing a Master of Library and Information Studies degree at UNCG, which should allow him to add proper bibliographic references to this site some day. David's hobbies and interests include forgotten US highways, vintage commercial architecture, old movies, used bookstores, and food. He is married to the most wonderful boy in the world, and has no children, no plans for children, and very little patience with children. Except, of course, for his niece, who is the most wonderful girl in the world. Groceteria.com has been featured in the following publications:
David can often be found shopping at the Cloverdale Avenue Harris Teeter in Winston-Salem -- which used to be both a Zayre and a Kroger. He also appreciates gifts and gratuities and always writes "thank you" notes... - Photos of David Gwynn ©2004, Mark Kratt. |
